Working exclusively with marketing services agencies, I help to set a roadmap for your business, to get it in the right shape commercially for revenue growth and profit growth, alongside building the management capability to deliver it.

 

I'm particularly passionate about how big results can be realised with relatively small, incremental changes to focus and direction - coupled with a good layer of operational rigour.​

To ensure I can give your business the attention it needs, I only work with a small number of clients at any one time. 

  • You struggle to find the time to work 'on' the business, over-whelmed by the pressure on your time to work 'in' the business.

  • You have an idea of where you want to take the business, but you haven’t properly mapped out a strategy to take you there.

Non-executive direction (NED)

Taking on an NED can add immense value to a business – with an external perspective, and a wealth of agency experience. Mine is a strategic role focussed purely ‘on’ your business, and keeping it focussed and on strategy.

 

I’m a little different from your typical NED. As well as a monthly board meeting, I’m happy to get as involved in your business as you want. I apply my expertise and support where it can most add value to you.

Business strategy & planning

Imagine a great ship setting sail to navigate the vast ocean without a compass or a planned route for how to arrive at its final destination – without each crew member having been fully briefed on this destination and why the ship is headed there.

 

Building and running a business is no different. You’re setting out on a journey and you want it to be successful. That’s where business planning comes in.

 

To succeed you must set a strategy from the beginning with a clear direction and plan of how you’re going to get there, with your team aligned to the vision and clear on what they need to do and what is expected of them to drive success for the business.

 

The basis of any good business strategy is knowing what the ideal future means to you, knowing the industries / geographies / channels you will compete best in, how you will succeed and win against the competition, the capabilities you have to drive competitive advantage, and the tools and systems you have in place to measure your success.

Senior management mentoring

I offer one on one sessions with agency owners and/or senior management, working with you to stimulate your personal growth and guide and support you to be the best in your role, and ultimately for the business.

Commerical analysis & interpretation

Applying my experience of running agencies to the numbers, this is an in-depth commercial analysis of your management accounts to reveal the commercial story of the business, identifying any trends and insights, which can then help to shape and inform your business decisions.

Dovetailing with your business strategy, this is about being in control of the story that the numbers tell and using them to take the business where you want it to go. And sometimes, it’s just a reassurance that the business is in good shape and you can make the investments you’ve been wanting to without upsetting the apple cart!

Client revenue growth

With the full impact of the current economic struggles still not clear, it’s more important than ever to invest time in the potential of incremental revenue growth in your existing clients, which is too often left untapped!

Drawing on my years of experience in client services, I work with client services teams to profile and identify the key client accounts for year on year revenue growth and alignment to your strategy. We then develop a strategic account sales plan for each of these with time-lined actions and commercial goals.
